Rebecca uses her skills as a writer and planner to develop questions, record input, synthesize ideas, and craft materials that reflect the interests of the community she’s working with.
Rebecca’s recent work includes coordinating public outreach efforts, holding stakeholder interviews, analyzing public survey data, and writing summary reports and presentations for a variety of engagement activities.
Before joining 3 Square Blocks, Rebecca led a temporary streetscape redesign for a community in Charlottesville, Virginia; crafted facilities planning study report documents for the University of Massachusetts Lowell; and coordinated a webinar series for a research and policy initiative committed to advancing the theory and practice of designing and planning for nature in cities. Prior to earning her master’s degree in Urban and Environmental Planning at the University of Virginia’s School of Architecture, Rebecca built her strong set of digital engagement skills while working as a content marketing and editorial associate for a culinary and travel brand.
Rebecca came to planning by way of her interest in public and site-specific art, which she studied while earning her B.A. at Hamilton College and supported first-hand while volunteering at a non-profit community art space in her home state of New York.
There is no logic that can be superimposed on the city; people make it, and it is to them, not buildings, that we must fit our plans.
