DSHS Fircrest School Master Plan

We provided project management, guidance and overall vision for a master plan defining long-term use of the 100-acre Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) campus in Shoreline, Washington. This hilly, forested site is home to a residential habilitation center and health lab, plus mature stands of trees and Hamlin Creek. We led development of a master plan providing economically viable future uses that complement existing site uses and make efficient use of excess property while preserving and improving valuable environmental site features. The master plan also established a comprehensive stormwater treatment system that accounted for planned uses and the site’s hilly terrain and multiple drainage areas. The plan provides a way for DSHS to maximize the value of its property by combining public uses with supportive private development in an environmentally sensitive manner.
